Dix River Adventures

The philosophy driving this enterprise is quite simple.

The Palisades region of the Kentucky and Dix Rivers in southern Jessamine County, Kentucky, is among the most spectacular sites in this part of the country. Soaring 300 ft. limestone cliffs cradle the river confluence, creating a distinctive canyon effect unique to this region. A fabulous array of wildlife, combined with refreshingly clear, cool water and trophy Trout fishing, make this a truly under-valued gem. It is my philosophy that the glory of God is plainly evident through His handiwork in the region, and everyone deserves a chance to experience it. The aim of Dix River Adventures is to create a safe, memorable, and affordable experience of the Palisades...for anyone.


In the Beginning...

Our family moved to Wilmore, KY, in the summer of 2004. Our plan was for me to finish my two Master's programs at Asbury Theological Seminary, then return to Indiana the following winter. That was six years ago. During that time, however, I have discovered the breathtaking beauty of the Palisades. Now I'd like to share that discovery with you.

A Fisher of Men...and Fish!

Although my primary vocational calling is to a ministry of teaching, I love to fish and boat. If you've not had the chance to experience the majestic scenery and amazing variety of wildlife along the Kentucky and Dix River basins, you really need to. It's something no person living in Central Kentucky should miss. Your Dix River Adventure begins here!
For years I've taken friends and family "up the river" for memorable outings, but oftentimes with inadequate or outdated equipment. Although I'm now boating in state-of-the-art equipment designed specifically for the unique character of the Dix, doing so was a significant undertaking given our budget. My thinking is that, given the opportunity to boat and fish safely, comfortably, and occasionally, folks will pay a relatively modest fee for the experience. I regret having to charge anything at all, but as the adage goes, "you get what you pay for." And with me, you'll really like what you get!
